Eludril FAQs
Why do I need to dilute the solution?
Eludril Mouthwash comes in an undiluted, concentrated form with 0.1% chlorhexidine and 0.5% chlorbutanol. This needs to be diluted 1 to 3 in the handy measuring cup provided, with lukewarm water in order to achieve the correct concentration. See below for the benefits of dilution in warm water.
Why should I use lukewarm water?
Warm water enhances efficacy and soothes the affected area.
How long can I use Eludril mouthwash for?
Eludril Mouthwash should be used for up to 14 days. If your symptoms persist after this time, you should consult a dentist, doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Doesn’t chlorhexidine taste awful?
Chlorhexidine mouthwashes have a reputation for tasting nasty. Eludril Mouthwash contains a reduced level of chlorhexidine compared to many other mouthwashes and it also has a menthol flavour which makes it much more pleasant to use.
If Eludril contains less chlorhexidine is it as effective?
Eludril Mouthwash has been clinically proven to be as effective as products with higher levels of chlorhexidine. This is due to its unique combination of ingredients.
Does Eludril Mouthwash come in a range of sizes?
Yes, it is available in 90ml, 250ml and 500ml bottles.
How much is Eludril?
The recommended retail prices for the range are:
90ml £2.34
250ml £4.85
500ml £8.68
Spray 55ml £4.79 - This product is only available behind the counter in pharmacy.
Does Eludril contain alcohol?
Eludril does contain alcohol (14% after dilution) and this is a key ingredient as it enhances the efficacy of the product.
Can children use Eludril?
Elduril can be used by children over 6 years of age.
Why should I not use Eludril Spray before meals?
Eludril Spray contains an anaesthetic called amethocaine hydrochloride and this numbs the affected area. You should not eat or drink after using Eludril Spray because you may bite the inside of your mouth or burn/scald yourself if your food or drink is too hot.
